Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, the 2018 Cactus League season generated an estimated economic impact of $644.2 million, an increase of 11% above the real-world production estimate from 2015 (output estimate). The study, which solely polled out-of-state tourists, also discovered that the Cactus League contributed $373 million to Arizona’s GDP. According to the survey, the typical spring training tourist stayed in Arizona for four days and spent $405 each day.

The Cactus League has how many teams?
Of the 15 clubs who practice in Arizona, only the Cubs, Angels, Brewers, Giants, and Athletics have their own home stadiums, in contrast to the Grapefruit League, where teams sometimes share stadiums. Secrets: Salt River Fields, the first sports complex of its kind in the country to be constructed on tribal property, is also the first LEED Gold-certified sports facility in the country. The park’s signature feature is a roof modeled after a traditional Native American ramada that is composed of two overlapping decks behind home plate and is positioned so that nearly all spectators in the grandstand sit in shade all afternoon. Tributes to its roots can be found throughout, including restroom signs in Maricopa, Pima, and English. Cactus and other indigenous desert plants are also included. The stadium with 11,000 seats debuted in 2011. The two teams share 13 fields in total.

The Los Angeles Dodgers today released its revised 18-game 2022 Cactus League schedule. The team’s 14th Spring Training season in Glendale, Arizona will get underway against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday, March 18 at 1:05 p.m. at Camelback RanchGlendale. The club will wrap up its exhibition season against the Angels in Southern California on April 3 at Angel Stadium (6:05 p.m.) and April 4 and 5 at Dodger Stadium after returning from Arizona (6:10 p.m.).
Nine of the Dodgers’ 18 Cactus League games, including eight as the designated home team, will be held at Camelback RanchGlendale. Popular home games will feature contests versus the Padres (Friday, March 25, 6:05 p.m.) and Giants, in addition to two matches with their CR-G neighbor Chicago White Sox (Saturday, April 2, 12:05 p.m.).
Each of the three Cactus League weekends the club has at least one home game, giving fans the chance to travel the five hours by car or the hour by plane to the desert. The Padres play in the Cactus League, right?
The Padres’ Cactus League schedule will get underway against the Mariners on March 18 at the Peoria Sports Complex, almost three weeks later than originally planned.
After the owners’ lockout was lifted on Thursday, organizers could start making plans for a shortened spring training before the Padres’ April 7 game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The revised Cactus League schedule for the Padres has 18 games rather than the initial 31. Eight of those contests, including the opening matchup against their Mariners complex neighbors on March 18, will be played at home. The Padres have yet to provide a complete broadcast schedule, Cactus League start times, or ticketing details.
Before the Padres start the 2022 season with a road trip through Arizona and San Francisco, the spring schedule will come to an end April 5 against the White Sox.
The start time of the Padres’ April 14 home opener against the Atlanta Braves has also been pushed forward from 6:40 p.m. to 5:10 p.m.
