Are cactus available everywhere?

Three flavors of Cacti, a 7.0 percent ABV seltzer flavored with agave syrup, include pineapple, lime, and strawberry. The drink’s style was inspired by Scott’s fondness of tequila and easy-drinking seltzer.

Don’t anticipate the beers to taste like a tequila soda because Cacti isn’t fermenting the agave, as one would to make mezcal or tequila. (However, brands like Volley and Onda are essentially tequila spritzes in a can.)

Fans are ecstatic, regardless of the drink’s particular ingredients. Scott attracted groups of people eager to grab some of his drinksor simply a selfie with the man behind the magic during a promotional tour to stir up talk for Cacti in Los Angeles. The hoopla surrounding the album’s release is similar to Scott’s relationship with McDonald’s in 2020 for the Travis Scott Meal, which included a Sprite, a Quarter Pounder with bacon, and French fries with barbecue sauce.

The rapper has previously hinted at the arrival of his spiked seltzers at the same time as the Travis Scott Meal. Scott raps, “Cacti’s, not no iced tea,” in his song “Franchise,” according to Complex. A day before the drinks’ premiere, a promo for them ran at the Grammys.

Scott also released a line of Cacti-branded merchandise, which includes apparel as well as novelty things like a wall clock and neon sign, to go along with the launching of Cacti and likely to target a fan following that isn’t old enough to legally drink yet.

Cacti is offered all over the country wherever Anheuser-Busch products are sold; you may discover nearby outlets here. The drinks are offered in single 16- and 25-ounce cans as well as nine- and 12-packs of 12-ounce cans; Cacti is not a limited release.

What distinguishes a cactus from a cacti?

Cactus varieties: A noun is “cacti.” It is a family of spiky plants, and the word “cactus” is the plural form. The spines of cacti are renowned for being sharp. They can withstand harsh environments by preserving water in their stems for a long time.

America is the home of cacti. In many places, they are cultivated as ornamental indoor and outdoor plants but also thrive naturally in the deserts of the western United States. Saguaro cacti are frequently depicted in Western movies, where their bold outlines and jagged spines make them easily recognizable.

Are cacti tasty to eat?

Do you enjoy cacti? I’m the same, too! Although the majority of cacti have spines, you can also consume them! Seriously, I still recall the first time I ate a cactus and how I fell in love with it right away. Although not all cacti species are edible, you must be careful when choosing which ones to consume.

Cactus has an extremely acidic flavor. The chewy, crunchy pads have a flavor reminiscent of green vegetables, particularly asparagus. Green peppers or beans may also taste similar to some cactus pads.

How many cactus have you sold?

The once-hot brand Cacti Agave Spiked Seltzer has been discontinued by Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABI) nine months after it was introduced as “the future of hard seltzer.” The move, which was first reported by Beer Business Daily and Beer Marketer’s Insights, shows how little patience major players have for brand building in the long tail of the hard seltzer market. It also shows that ABI intends to let Bud Light Hard Seltzer, which ranks third in chain stores, Michelob ULTRA Organic Seltzer, and Bud Light Platinum Seltzer, which ranks eleventh, take center stage for the foreseeable future.

Within a week of its launch, Cacti was a top-5 hard seltzer brand, but sales have since dropped to, at most, 1.1 percent of the market, placing it at #9.

69 percent of all chain retail sales are made by the leading brand families in the category, White Claw and Truly. Eighteen brands own 88.9% of the market share, including Cacti.

While it’s unclear if ABI supported Cacti for on-premise placements instead of Bud Light seltzer, which earned about 2% of total can volume in 2021, combined on- and off-premise data from Fintech and the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) had Cacti at just over half a percent of the hard seltzer market.

Only category leaders White Claw (9%), Truly (2.6%), and Bud Light Hard Seltzer (1.9%) are shown by Fintech and the NBWA as having any substantial can share in the on-premise.

Cacti accounts for 1.1 percent of total hard seltzer sales in grocery, convenience, and big box shops, according to IRI’s off-premise chain retail data.

ABI’s preference for hard seltzer families with higher brand loyalty wasn’t Cacti’s only issue, either. A class action lawsuit was filed against it for using the word “agave,” and rapper Travis Scott, a brand partner and celebrity endorser, is currently embroiled in his own legal issues. Scott’s performance at the Astroworld festival on November 5 caused a crowd surge that resulted in ten fatalities, and as a result, Scott is being sued. The rapper’s collaboration with ABI ended on November 30 according to a spokesperson for him who also described the decision to do so as “mutual.” The cooperation was previously described by ABI as “a long-term collaborative effort.

Almost three times as much hard seltzer was sold in 2019 ($5 billion) in chain retail establishments in the United States that IRI tracks during the most recent 52-week period ending November 28. For Cacti, it was $51.2 million, not much less than what Oskar Blues Brewery and Harpoon Brewery together sold in IRI-tracked chain retail. Even 1% of that long-tail market is worth millions of dollars.

ABI seems to be growing impatient with brands that aren’t capturing sizable shares of what’s left of the market while the biggest seltzer brands in the nation continue to dominate it. The top ten hard seltzer brands in chain retail, as tracked by IRI, accounted for 90.9 percent of the market this year and 90.7 percent last year. Given the class-action lawsuit and Travis Scott’s troubled reputation, the niche market for Cacti no longer seems to be worth the effort to establish a brand.

Instead, ABI is sticking with what it is familiar with: expansions of well-known brands. ABI watched the brand fall from a $58 million per year brand in 2018 to one that is on pace to barely hit $15 million this year in IRI-tracked chain retail after it spent a lot of money to buy Spiked Seltzer (now called Bon & Viv) in 2016, and further spent roughly $5 million on a Super Bowl commercial for the brand in 2019. Bud Light Hard Seltzer, Bud Light Platinum Hard Seltzer, and Michelob ULTRA Organic Seltzer are line extensions that ABI introduced to diversify its portfolio in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Bon & Viv and Natty Light Hard Seltzer are still produced by the beverage firm, but like Cacti, ABI is allowing them to take a backseat to other hard seltzer brands in the company’s portfolio.

Molson Coors Beverage Company, ABI’s main American rival, has made a comparable decision by grouping its seltzer products behind its top sellers. Coors Seltzer, which remains the nation’s 15th best-selling hard seltzer brand year to date, was discontinued by Molson Coors in July. Instead, the firm is focusing on Topo Chico Hard Seltzer, which is ranked eighth overall, and Vizzy, which is the U.S.’s fourth-ranked hard seltzer brand. Topo Chico Hard Seltzer, which made its debut in March, now commands 2.2 percent of the hard seltzer market in the United States thanks to recognition for its non-alcoholic sparkling water, which is available in all 50 states and has been expanding quickly for years.

As businesses struggle to determine which of their goods will be the lead horses, change comes quickly in the long tail of hard seltzer. Nine months ago, Cacti made news with a record-breaking launch that saw it sell out in tens of thousands of retailers. According to online beer publication Brewbound, Cacti sold more in its first week than any hard seltzer variety pack in ABI history. It is also said to have become one of the most-followed alcohol brands on social media in general, and ABI’s, thanks in part to Scott’s celebrity support. (ABI removed Cacti’s social media accounts afterwards.)

This is far more than a limited-edition product drop; it is a long-term collaborative effort for all stakeholders involved, ABI told Campaign US, a communications industry newspaper, in May.

Not being was not intended. The brilliance that Cacti once had was tempered by an unexpected tragedy and a class action lawsuit. The brand will be remembered as just another illustration of how ABI prioritizes brands with long-term equity and name recognition over those with truly novel innovation and, at least initially, high potential.

Cacti can grow outside in the UK.

Sucrose and cacti In sunny, well-drained conditions, a few can even be cultivated outside. These intriguing and extremely collectible plants are widely accessible and come in a wide variety.

Do you give cacti water?

With their striking shapes of all kinds and stunning color variations, cacti are among the world’s most distinctive and lovely plants. They go well with a variety of home decor themes, including minimalist, boho, and, of course, anything with a southwestern influence! Who hasn’t had the need to collect each and every one of the miniature cactus plants on display and take them home? Plants require proper care once they have been adopted because they are more than just static decoration. Cactus plant care isn’t tough, but it is a little special, just like the plants themselves! Below are our top five suggestions.

Location Observation

You may probably imagine what type of environment cactus prefer since they typically grow in desert climates! Sunlight in plenty. But take care! Even cactus can burn, particularly if they are in full sunshine and positioned behind a glass window, which intensifies the effects of the sun. The best window is one that faces south. You may need to move your cactus to a cooler location if you see that the side facing the sun is beginning to turn yellow or brown.

Keep your cactus in a bright area of the house, such as one with artificial lighting. You can put your cactus outside on the patio throughout the summer to take advantage of the intense summer sun.

Hydration Fixation

For many plant owners, watering cacti plants has been a worrying thought. We are aware that they require water because they are plants, but we have also been warned about providing them with excessive amounts of water because they originate from the desert. Cacti actually require regular waterings; they only have a particular defense against drought.

The need of water cannot be overstated if you want your cactus to grow. You can feed them water once a week if they are in a sunny area with good daytime heat. The sole need is that the soil be completely dry between waterings. This will prevent the plant’s bottom margins and roots from rotting or becoming wet.

You can use less water in the winter because there is less sun and it gets colder at night during this season, which causes cactus to go dormant.

Flirt with the Dirt

A variety of cacti species are grown together in a container garden to create an oasis of lovely plants, and these gardens are highly popular. This frequently necessitates repotting the cacti! Consider the type of soil you’re using in the new container in addition to constantly wearing thick gloves (or using salad tongs to pick up and handle the cactus). Cacti prefer their own distinctive flavor of dirt, thus it must be highly efficient at draining surplus water. Many nurseries and flower stores sell bags of cactus soil, which is sandier and rockier than standard potting soil. This is necessary to ensure that the water drains and doesn’t keep the cactus damp.

Plotted and Potted

Take a close look at the container you are selecting before you repot the cactus. The best option is undoubtedly a container with drainage holes, as you won’t have to worry about the bottom collecting water. Cacti can, however, also be grown in containers without drainage holes; it just requires a little more attention. Always check the soil before watering to make sure it is completely dry. To avoid unintentionally drowning your cacti, another alternative is to meter the water you use. Depending on the season, a 1/4 to 1/2 cup per week or two is sufficient to ensure the health of your cactus.

In the Mood for Food

Fertilizer can be quite beneficial for cacti, and there are specific types with the nutrients they require. (An additional excellent alternative for a well-balanced supper is a 10-10-10 fertilizer.) Since they love to be fed in little quantities frequently, you can fertilize them sparingly with each watering during the summer growing season. In the winter, decrease your efforts to give the plants time to recuperate.

BONUS TIPDress up Your Cacti

Cacti are lovely guys on their own, but it’s always fun to give them a little makeover! From a lovely pot with extra personality to organic accents. Traditional containers for these desert-dwelling plants are made of terra cotta or clay, although a glass terrarium-style planter or ceramic dish can also be used. We enjoy placing stones and pebbles of various sizes and colors on top of the ground. We also include wood, sand, and big rocks. Make sure you can still use a finger or a moisture meter to determine if the soil is dry or not.
