Following a motorcycle accident on Saturday, Cactus Moser, Wynonna Judd’s husband, had his left leg amputated above the knee in a Rapid City, South Dakota, hospital.
His limb “was severed at the scene of the accident,” a Judd representative said in a statement. Before their performance in Deadwood, South Dakota, Judd and Moser were riding a few motorcycles when one of them slid past the middle line and hit an approaching vehicle.
A hand operation was also performed on Moser, a drummer in Judd’s band. Wynonna was unharmed.
According to their representative, the couple “appreciates all of the prompt medical and police responders, as well as the hospital staff and well-wishes from family, friends, and fans.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol was issuing him a citation for driving on the wrong side of the road and not having a license to ride a motorbike, according to the Rapid City Journal, which also stated that the drummer had been transported by helicopter from the site to the hospital.
