Build a box first that is 8 blocks long, 7 blocks wide, and 3 blocks high using glass blocks (dimensions are 8x7x3).
Dig out one of the sides that is 8 glass block wide
Next, move to a side that is 8 blocks wide and create a 6 block wide hole as seen in the illustration below.
Digging should continue until the hole like this:
Place Cobblestone above the Water
Cobblestone must then be positioned over the water. Starting with 2 cobblestone blocks against the glass is a good idea because this is tough.
the block of cobblestone closest to the glass should then be broken. The one pebble will then appear to be floating above the water as a result of this.
When you are finished, there should be 4 cobblestone blocks altogether, but you will have placed 8 cobblestone and broken 4 of them.
Place a Nether Brick Wall above (and between each set of cactus)
You must now add a block, such as a subterranean brick wall, above and in the middle of each group of cacti. Since this is tough, start by putting the front brick wall first and the outer brick wall on top of the cactus.
When you are finished, there should be 2 nether brick walls in place, however you will have erected 4 nether brick walls and destroyed 2 of them.
Cactus Farm is ready!

Let’s now describe how this farm operates. The top of a cactus will split off as it grows. The cactus fragment will fall into the water, travel with the water current to the hoppers, and then be placed in one of the chests by the hoppers.

What purpose does a cactus farm serve?
Cacti are routinely planted and then harvested in cactus farming. Due to their high XP output when smelted, cactus farms are excellent for obtaining green dye by smelting the cactus blocks or for storing experience in a furnace. However, in Bedrock Edition, they do not create nearly as much XP when smelted. Sand and water supply blocks can be cleverly positioned to create fascinating, practical, and efficient agricultural layouts.
How much time does it take cacti to grow?
An eye-catching and intriguing addition to your decor can be made by a cactus plant, especially if it is rather large. Larger cactus, however, are scarce.
Due to adaptations for thriving in their natural desert habitat, cactus plants naturally grow considerably more slowly than most plants. A giant cactus houseplant is astonishing not just for its appearance but also for the dedication and effort needed to grow that big.
You may be wondering how quickly cactus plants grow if you own one but it doesn’t seem to be growing as quickly as your other houseplants.
The majority of cactus plant varieties develop slowly. Depending on the species, they may only reach a height of a few centimeters if grown from seed after the first two or three years. With a few notable exceptions that can occasionally grow up to 15cm each year, most cactus plants will grow from there at a rate of roughly 1-3cm per year.
Some of the lowest care plants you may choose to cultivate in your house are cactus plants, but this comes at the cost of requiring a lot of patience.
What digs up cacti the quickest?
Only sand, red sand, or another cactus block may be used to place a cactus block. If any block made of a solid substance or lava occupies any of the four horizontally adjacent blocks, the cactus splits (and falls as an object). It also crumbles when placed on sand and the block above is made of lava or water.
Every 0.5 seconds, one damage is taken when a cactus is touched by any entity, including players and mobs. Armor lessens damage from touching a cactus, but touching one also harms the armor. Cacti are not avoided by hordes when they pathfind.
Any object that comes into contact with a cactus, even another cactus in item form, is destroyed. When falling blocks like sand and gravel hit a cactus, they become item form rather than being destroyed (as happens when it falls into any block with a hitbox that has a height less than 1, such as slabs). The cactus in this instance will occasionally (but not always) decimate the thing that was made. Even if the falling block is a cactus (which is conceivable with /summon), the conversion to an item still holds true.
A minecart that runs into a cactus block drops as an item and is frequently destroyed, though a hopper can pick it up more quickly.
A cactus measures 78 of a block in width (equal to chests) and a whole block in height, although the collision box is 1516 of a block high (excluding the spikes).
Can you eat cactus meal in Minecraft?
As was already indicated, the basic overview is straightforward: the bonemeal is essentially powered by a cactus. The farm’s central cactus will develop until it collides with a fence post, at which point it will split apart and tumble into the water. The cacti will then be transported by the water to the hopper and composter. Bonemeal will flow through the second hopper and into the chest once there is enough cacti to fill the composter.
The procedure is broken down in the following manner:
- Make a 5×5 platform out of 25 different blocks.
- Put a cactus on top of one of the sands in the center of the block. Only sand will allow cactuses to grow.
- Blocks around the platform’s perimeter create a 3×3 enclosure that encloses the cactus and sand. Later, water will be held in this place.
- Put a hopper in place of the block just in front of the cactus.
- Set two blocks with fences on top in a straight line behind the cactus. This fence post will effectively “cut” the cactus.
- Place a bucket of water in the block just beneath the fence. The water should eventually reach the hopper after flowing around the cactus.
- Now proceed to the farm’s base. Clear the area just beneath the hopper, leaving some extra space for movement and block placement.
- Place the composter beneath the hopper.
- Place a chest in front of the composter and leave the area beneath it empty for the time being. See the illustration below for positioning.
- Connect a hopper after turning around to the backside of the chest. When placing the hopper, keep shift depressed to avoid unintentionally opening the chest.
- Once the area has been covered with dirt, you’re done! This arm will descend if you started at ground level. You can either leave it as is or slightly raise the farm so that the collection area is at ground level.
That was fairly simple! Although this farm occupies a lot of territory, it is necessary. Cactuses require a minimum of a 3×3 space to grow because they cannot be placed right next to any other blocks.
You’ll eventually start to build up bonemeal. You can use this substance to hasten the development of crops and trees as well as to make dyes. The foundation of any auto-crop farm is bonemeal.
Although this farm on a single plot is simple, it is not the most productive. You will need to wait a long time before receiving any bonemeal unless you increase the ticks in your Minecraft world, which makes grow cycles happen more quickly. Thankfully, this farm can be duplicated and merged with others to create a bigger farm.
Cacti are broken by fences?
So let’s start by building a cactus farm the simplest method possible before examining how to add more layers for increased efficiency. On level ground, draw a 1111 square as your starting point. Dig down three blocks in the center of the square outline, and then clear out two more neighboring spots. This is for the hopper and double chest that we’ll eventually tunnel to.

The fences that will stop the cacti from developing need to be positioned three blocks above ground level in order to float one space higher than the cacti. A cactus will break if it enlarges and “comes into contact” with the fence post. You just need 1 fence post between each pair because each fence post can destroy two cactus. Cacti can be planted on each of the sand blocks after they are in position.
Add water to the four corners of the cactus farm and a 2-foot-tall glass wall on top of the current square outline to complete the design. Even if the glass wall is optional, I believe it looks nice. The only remaining step is to burrow under the farm to reach the double treasure.
What is the cactus’ profit?
Hossain chose to cultivate cactus commercially in 2016 with three sheds in front of his house after seeing the need for such indoor plants.
Since then, the employee of an NGO headquartered in the neighboring Pirojpur district has expanded his private garden with two more huts and a variety of new species.
Currently, Hossain’s garden contains over 250 different species of cacti and other succulents, as well as different kinds of orchids, bonsai trees, adenium, and hanging plants.
Cacti, though, continue to be his best-selling item, bringing in between Tk 35,000 and Tk 40,000 every month.
The local Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) says that increasing cactus production might create job possibilities and, as a result, bring financial prosperity to the area by citing his achievements.
Hossain’s garden contains a variety of cacti species from at least eight nations, including the US, Thailand, Italy, Indonesia, and India. Cacti can withstand almost any climatic condition.
Aloe vera, lajjabati (also known as the shameplant), satamuli, a kind of asparagus, and other medicinal plants are also present.
Hossain’s garden has a total plant value of at least Tk 6 lakh to Tk 7 lakh, with each cactus fetching prices ranging from Tk 150 to Tk 3,000.
Along with the cacti, he also sells additional gardening supplies needed for cactus culture, such as coco peat, bone meal, and ready-mix soil.
Additionally, he continued, “these plants can be purchased online from the garden’s official Facebook page.”
Hossain claimed he divides his time between taking care of his garden and working at the NGO.
I make roughly Tk 35,000 each month from both online and offline sales, and this has turned into my pastime, he continued.
Hossain continued by saying that the plant will be delivered by courier if a purchase was placed through Facebook, which makes up around 99 percent of his sales.
Cacti are a highly demanding amateur plant, according to Hossain, who also discussed the costs of cactus cultivation and the risks posed by new business owners.
It cannot grow in regular soil because various materials, such sand, coal, manure, bricks, coco peat, and wood shavings, must be added to prepare the soil.
But beginning a new farm doesn’t have to be expensive, Hossain said. “But first you have to understand how to take care of this plant.”
Cacti are regarded as decorative houseplants with a high demand, according to Md Shafiqul Islam, deputy director of the DAE office in Bagerhat.
It is currently in great demand on the domestic and international markets. Depending on the species, cacti can be purchased for cheap or expensive costs.
Since Altaf has had experience growing cacti, Islam continued, “If any other farmer wishes to grow the plant, we will offer them the appropriate advice.”
