Even with seemingly simple things like windshield wiper blades, they truly do prefer to do things differently. When replacing these, there is a little bit of a catch, as with most things French, but don’t worry; we can show you all the techniques.
On a Citroen C1, how do I replace the rear wiper blade?
Take a flat-bladed screwdriver. From the wiper arm, remove the blade. Be careful when changing the wiper blade to avoid damaging the glass with the spring-loaded wiper arm. After replacing the wiper blade, gently press the wiper arm against the glass.
Bayonet type
The blade is pushed into place onto the end of the arm, which contains a tiny raised pin that clicks into a hole in the mounting for the blade.

Hooked arms
A U-shaped plastic component that pivots on a pin is attached to the blade. The plastic is able to fit inside the arm’s hooked end. Squeeze the U-ends shape’s together to remove the blade, then slide it along the arm to the hook’s open end. Disconnect the U-piece from the hook.
Thread the hooked arm through an aperture above the U-piece to attach the new blade. The U-section should be inserted into the hook until a locking plastic piece clicks into a notch or cutout in the hook.
Sidelock blades
A waisted pin on one side of a sidelock blade engages in a transverse hole at the end of the arm. Pull the pin sideways while pulling the locking clip away from it.
Simply insert the pin into the hole to replace the blade; however, make sure the blade is above the arm. It might be installed backwards.
By putting shaped plastic locking bits into the hook, some hook-ended arms can accept sidelock blades.
Press the plastic insert towards the hook’s open end to release the blade.

Pantograph type
Some automobiles employ two pantograph arms. Two pivots will be used to attach the blade, typically using locknuts. To separate the blades, unscrew or pry off any covers and loosen the nuts.
