The second requirement for your new houseplant is humidity. Alocasia prefers a damp climate and requires a lot of water while actively growing. There should be a pebble tray underneath this plant. However, the Kris plant also goes through a fall dormant stage during which the leaves wither and die. During dormancy, Alocasia’s need for water greatly decreases, so irrigation should be limited to occasionally moistening the soil.

- Never let the foot of this plant get wet. Although they prefer damp soil, aloes do not do well in heavy, compacted wet soil. The soil’s bottom may remain damp if it is compacted, which promotes root rot and fungus gnats.

Humidity:

Light

The best aspect is that you don’t even need to keep track of a fertilization schedule because it’s gentle enough to use with every watering. When I go around my neighborhood every week, I simply add some to my watering can. It’s really simple!
