Can you make a balloon arch with string?
For this style of balloon arch, we recommend using 0.5 mm Nylon line (commonly known as fishing line or monofilament), as specified on our balloon arch page.
Can I make a balloon arch the night before?
I’m wondering how long ahead of time it should be made because I’m not sure if it can be done the night before or if it should be done the day of the party. I’m making it myself and calculating how much time I’ll need.
It’s ideal to do a helium-filled arch, such as a String-of-Pearls Arch, on the day of the birthday party.
Latex balloons loaded with helium only float for roughly 10 to 12 hours. If you wish to make your helium-filled arch the night before the event, I strongly advise you to use hi-float on your balloons.
If you’re going to make an air-filled arch, you can start working on it the day before.
Does a balloon arch need helium?
So you want to use balloons to make a statement, but you don’t have anywhere to put a balloon garland. The tabletop balloon arch is an excellent choice. Again, all you need is a 6ft banquet table to attach to (kits supplied here) to get all the effect and color of multiple balloons! Larger tables can also work, but I’d recommend purchasing two arch kits to ensure the arch can rise high enough to accommodate your table.
Only some preparation time is necessary for this project.
Depending on how many colors you want to use and how big you fill each of the balloons, most balloon arches require 80-100 balloons.
The most crucial advice is to make sure your balloons are of the same size! You can use a fancy balloon size guide box like the one seen below, which is available on Amazon, or you can easily construct your own by cutting a hole in an old shipping box and using it as a guide.

You’ll probably use little 5″ latex balloons or not fill your 11″ latex balloons completely whether you’re crafting a table runner or a balloon centerpiece. To add complexity, texture, and flair to your tabletop design, add other figurine balloons, plants, or thematic accessories to your balloons.
1.This project does not have to be completed on the day of the celebration; in fact, we strongly advise against it! Non-helium balloons can be blown up a few days ahead of time, allowing you to blow up, knot, tie, and prep all of your balloon decor a night or two before the party and have everything ready to assemble.

How long does it take to make a balloon arch?
How long will it take to put the balloon arch together? If you use a balloon pump, the garland will take about 30 – 45 minutes to make because the inflation will be more faster and easy. The majority of the time will be spent inflating the balloons, with the remainder being spent attaching them to the garland.
