The ice plant is poisonous.

Dogs are safe at Cooper’s Ice Plant, right?
Snow-in-summer (Cerastium tomentosum) and Cooper’s hardy ice plant (Delosperma cooperi) are dog-safe perennials and creeper plants that do well in bright, sunny environments. Cooper’s hardy ice plant has succulent foliage and reaches heights of 6 to 7 inches and widths of 2 feet. It produces daisy-like, purple-pink flowers from spring until October. In USDA zones 6 to 10, it is hardy.
Snow in the summer has silver-green, velvety leaves that are 6 to 12 inches tall and 1 foot broad. It produces a lot of white flowers in the spring and summer. In USDA zones 3 to 10, it is hardy. Both species are drought-tolerant.
What is the benefit of ice plant?
The South African soil is continually scorched by the sun. You must have some tricks up your sleeve if you don’t want to pass out from thirst in this place. When it comes to acquiring water, the ice plant is an expert. It grows well on sandy, clayey, and even saline soils where it can cover up to 0.7 square meters under the hot sun. Its green or occasionally brightly red leaves hold the key to its mystery. They have glistening fluid reservoirs all over them that reflect sunlight like ice crystals or dew drops.
