When should I buy hostas?
- Hostas can be purchased as dormant bare-root divisions or potted plants and planted in the spring or fall.

How to Plant Hostas
- Dig a hole that is double the breadth and depth of the plant’s root ball. The roots of the hosta will benefit from loosening the soil in the planting area as they extend outward.
- Place the plants in the hole so that their crowns (bases) are level with the surrounding soil and any emerging leaf tips are visible above the soil surface.
- To settle the roots, gently dampen the soil around the plants and water until it is moist.
How long do hostas last?
