Is Thanksgiving Point’s Tulip Festival worthwhile?
We enjoy going to the tulip festival. And since we live so close, we have a pass to Thanksgiving Point, so we frequently visit multiple times. Because different tulips blossom at various times, every time we visit, different flowers are in bloom. Additionally, there are new sights to behold each year. It was a pleasant surprise to see the BYU, University of Utah, and USU logos this year (2016).
Although golf carts can be rented to travel through the gardens, we prefer to walk the walkways. You will miss a significant portion of the gardens because a lot of the paths are off-limits to golf carts. However, it is advantageous for individuals who require help. I would categorize this location as stroller and wheelchair friendly because many of the paths are paved and, even if they are not, we have pushed a stroller everywhere in the gardens.
During the Tulip Festival, there are food trucks, merchants, and other entertaining events like bouncy houses or art projects on Fridays and Saturdays. Therefore, going on the weekend might be worthwhile for both time and money, but they are also the busiest times.
Even though the Thanksgiving Point Ashton Gardens are stunning throughout the year, the Tulip Festival is when they are at their most exquisite. Make sure you start your journey to the gardens if you have never been by going during the tulip festival.

- You can pack a picnic lunch and have a picnic in the gardens because there are picnic tables close to the waterfall and the snack bar/food trucks.
- Utah’s Tulip Festival takes place in the spring, so be prepared for every type of weather. When we traveled this year, we dressed in winter hats and gloves. We wore sweatshirts and long pants last year, and I seem to recall wearing shorts one year. So make weather-related plans.
