Split the bottom of the stems of your lilacs before placing them in the vase that you’re using. To do this, you can either use a hammer on the bottom (I suggest doing this outside to avoid damaging your table!). or use your shears to cut an x at the bottom.
This will make it possible for the stems to absorb more water, preventing your lilacs from wilting too soon.
