The main drawback is that squirrels, voles, and other wildlife are drawn to the edible corms (bulbs) of spring beauty, which resemble potatoes.
In terms of naturalizing, crocus (Crocus species) are a perennial favorite. The majority of species and hybrids bloom in March or early April and are hardy to zone 3. Plant bulbs two to three times deeper than their diameter if there are no planting instructions on the packaging that they come in. To put it another way, a bulb with a diameter of an inch needs to be buried two to three inches underground. It is always best to plant bulbs with the pointed end up and the root end down. It is preferable to plant bulbs on their sides rather than upside down if you are unsure of which end is which.
After-bloom care
After they have completed blooming, bulbs for naturalizing often don’t need much maintenance. If springtime rainfall is in short supply, it can be beneficial to properly water plants shortly after bloom to support development and flower bud production for the following year. Once or twice should be sufficient to water; any more could destroy bulbs. After the flowers have faded, it is permissible to fertilize sparingly if the results of the soil test reveal a nutritional deficiency.
As long as the remaining foliage is healthy and green, let it grow. The spring bulb blooms will be better the longer the foliage remains in place (typically). Much less commonly than with larger bulbs like daffodils and tulips, little bulb foliage will typically wither and fade on its own. The remaining foliage of the bulb will be rapidly masked when bulbs are naturalized in perennial beds or lawns by the new growth of flowers or grasses.
Can tulips grow naturally?
Tulips are the emblematic spring flower with large, showy blooms and a color pallet wider than virtually any other type of bulbs. Few plants elicit the delight and nostalgia connected with tulips.

Tulips that return year after year: Getting your bulbs to naturalize

Furthermore, Greigii tulips can withstand herbivore grazing and wear and tear to an extent that would be lethal to other tulip groups.
The most well-known and well-known of the tulip varieties that can reproduce, Darwin tulips are most frequently observed in bloom in an old garden that hasn’t had any recent plantings. Even one or two of these tulips might be visible in a deserted lot. Darwin hybrids, which bloom in the middle of spring and have a highly “traditional and recognized tulip shape, are produced by mating robust fosteriana tulips with showy solitary late tulips. The last category of tulips is species tulips, which is really just a catch-all for whatever is left over from all the previous tulip groups. Each type of tulip is a distinct species, many of which are too diverse to hybridize, whereas the other classes are typically different blends of a few closely related species within the Tulip genus. As a result, this class of tulips has greater genetic variation than all the others combined. Since the majority of the types were just recently introduced to cultivation, they are frequently referred to as “wild tulips. This classification typically includes many tiny plants, some of which are only two inches tall. It also includes some of the most tenacious and robust multipliers (although not all of them will multiply as quickly). Many of them either send up successive flowers from the same bulb or produce multiple flowers on a single stalk. They are different and unique enough that guests would be astonished to realize that some of your species tulips are even tulips, and they can spread through your garden not just by offsets but also by seed.
