Why does Tulip Karasu reside in Ravenclaw?
She astonished Jacob’s sibling by being quirky when they first met in the Transfiguration class. She was intelligent, funny, and good at getting to the bottom of things as a Ravenclaw. [17] She expressed an interest in smart, perceptive individuals like Merula Snyde. Tulip was able to recognize and value people for their intelligence alone, despite the possibility of them also possessing unfavorable traits, as was also the case with Merula.
Tulip was disobedient and thought that laws were made to be broken. She acknowledged that she finds disorder to be beautiful. [5] Those tendencies propelled Tulip to engage in some risky behavior, such as smuggling a book of practical jokes out of the Restricted Section, which nearly blew up the Owlery and was one of her proudest moments. [17]
Tulip was deeply troubled by the notion that she had betrayed Merula, her best and only companion at the time, in their quest for the Cursed Vaults in her early years at Hogwarts. As a result of her fear that she will inevitably betray everyone she befriends, Tulip soon developed strong feelings of inadequacy and self-loathing, believing herself unworthy of ever developing friendships with anyone (to the point where Merula telling her that she will never have friends became her boggart). She consequently made the decision to lead a solitary life throughout her formative years, remaining close to her pet toad Dennis and avoiding interactions with other Hogwarts students.
All of this changed one day, though, when Jacob’s sibling approached her for assistance in their search for the Cursed Vaults and started getting to know her. The latter assured Tulip that she can actually change and make friends in her life. Tulip slowly started to open up to them after spending some time with them, and when they told her that they thought of her as their friend, she finally agreed with their assessment of her suitability for friendship. Tulip was inspired by their support and gained a more upbeat and hopeful view as a result, excitedly accepting their invitation to become friends and agreeing to assist them in their search for the vaults.
This newfound confidence in herself led Tulip to abandon her previous independent and self-reliant ways, accepting that she can have friends. Tulip made many friends after accepting Jacob’s sibling’s offer of friendship, and she eventually found her best friend in fellow rule-breaker and prankster Nymphadora Tonks. Tulip, on the other hand, tended to be neater and more methodical than her fellow pranksters.
She had a reputation for being an excellent spy, a talent she inherited from parents who were Ministry employees. Because Tulip was tone deaf, she utilized her skills to find Jacob’s sibling to audition with Dennis as a replacement singer for the Frog Choir.
Tulip liked to swim in the lake, which most people thought was terribly chilly. She could walk with Tonks on her shoulders as well. [18] This suggested that she was stronger physically than she looked to be.
Tulip betrayed Merula in what way?
In the third year, Merula reappeared, this time bringing a group of her own to aid her in her search for the remaining vaults. During the instruction on Wideye Potion, Merula introduced them to Jacob’s sibling as Ismelda Murk and Barnaby Lee. While the latter anticipated them to be taller, the former threatened Jacob’s sibling to keep them away from Merula this year. Exasperated, Jacob’s sibling begged Merula to stop arguing with them; Merula accepted because she intended to concentrate her efforts on locating the following cursed vault with the aid of her new friends.
Merula’s group talked about what kind of power the following vault would contain after their lecture was over. While Merula mocked Jacob’s sibling by suggesting that it might have the ability to revive their brother, Ismelda excitedly hoped that it was something that could bring back the Dark Lord. Merula and her crew were forced to flee as a result of Jacob’s sibling’s response, but not before Barnaby threatened the sibling with a bone-vanishing spell. The hefty student and Merula briefly discussed why Barnaby was working with them before the latter left to pursue Barnaby. [24]
Merula attended the Frog Choir tryouts. She later engaged in a duel with Jacob’s sibling, her rival, and admitted to desiring the position in the choir since her mother had been a member and had prepared her for her audition before to being incarcerated. Although Jacob’s sibling won the audition, it is uncertain if Merula was given the position. [25] [26]
Jacob’s sibling eventually met Tulip Karasu, who said that Merula’s sole true friend during her first years at Hogwarts was Tulip because she liked her rebellious and free-spirited nature. Together, they searched for the vaults and eventually discovered Jacob’s old chamber, where he had hidden his notes and the knowledge he had learned about the vaults. Merula and Tulip eventually fell out because they both developed a desire for dominance and started purposefully keeping information from one another. In order to prevent the unlocking charm from working, the two secured Jacob’s room with a lock that could only be unlocked with a key each female possessed. [27]
Later, Tulip and Jacob’s sibling proceeded to observe Merula and her allies in the Clocktower Courtyard. While Ismelda insisted on using the Cruciatus Curse to torment Jacob’s sibling in order to extract information from him, much to Merula’s disdain, Merula openly expressed her frustration at finding clues to the next vault. In order to get the key from Merula, Tulip and Jacob’s younger sibling came up with a strategy that required using a Jumbo Dungbomb to scare away Merula’s allies so they could face her alone. The two discovered Merula and her group once more conversing near the Clocktower Courtyard after purchasing the Jumbo Dungbomb from Zonko’s Joke Shop in Hogsmeade. Merula said that Ismelda did not know how to cast the spell in response to her claim that she would cast the Killing Curse on the next Gryffindor she saw. [28]
Ismelda was perplexed when Barnaby interjected, telling a story about unintentionally sitting on a bowtruckle and killing it, which had nothing to do with their topic of discussion. Merula eventually declared that she detested them both equally. While they were preoccupied, Jacob’s sibling used the Hardening Charm to fortify the bomb before using the Banishing Charm to detonate it between Merula’s gang. When the Jumbo Dungbomb discharged its foetid payload, Ismelda and Barnaby swiftly retreated but Merula appeared to be able to endure the foul smell. [28]
Tulip and Jacob’s sibling came forward to Merula, who had a hunch they were the ones pulling this prank. Tulip insisted that Merula give them the key, and Merula retaliated aggressively by saying that Tulip had betrayed her by working with Jacob’s sibling instead. The second key was then the subject of a duel between Merula and Jacob’s sibling. Merula lost, giving over her key to her opponent, but not before warning Jacob’s sibling in an uncommon warning about Tulip possibly betraying them. [28]
Then, in the hallway where Jacob’s former room was located, Merula faced Jacob’s sibling. After asking them what they were doing in the library, Merula responded in kind and threatened to punish the student in the future with something far worse. [29]
Merula traveled to the courtyard in the hopes that Talbott Winger and Jacob’s brother would provide knowledge about the Cursed Vaults. She did this by moving invisibly (perhaps while wearing the Disillusionment Charm). Instead, she learned that they were unregistered Animagi, and Talbott soon learned about her. She didn’t say she was interested in reporting them, but she also didn’t swear not to during a talk with Jacob’s sibling. She soon lost her memory after Talbott and Jacob’s brother used Obliviate on her. [30]
In keeping with her promise, Merula and Ismelda stopped Jacob’s sibling and friends in the library from going into the Restricted Section to find the Vault of Fear. Jacob’s sibling was rebuked by Merula for using the vaults’ power for good, and the two of them got into another duel. After their combat, Jacob’s sibling prevailed, but Ismelda launched an unexpected attack with Everte Statum, forcing Barnaby, who was now cooperating with Jacob’s sibling in place of Ismelda, to take the hit for them. [31]
While Jacob’s sibling entered the restricted area to scout the region for the entry to the second vault, Barnaby engaged his former allies in a two versus one battle and defeated Merula and Ismelda. Later, according to Barnaby, Merula tried to inform Professor Snape of what had occurred in the library but was unsuccessful because neither she nor Ismelda had any supporting documentation.
Rita Skeeter visited Hogwarts at some point during Merula’s third year to host a competition in which the winner would have the chance to be on the Daily Prophet front page. Naturally, Merula entered the competition with the goal of winning it, but as usual, she clashed with Jacob’s sibling who was also in the running, just to learn all they could about Rita’s disappearance of Jacob. Rita made the two compete against one another to make the best potion while also requiring them to share their most private information during a potion-making class.
To Merula’s dismay, Jacob’s sibling told Rita that Merula’s parents were imprisoned in Azkaban for being Death Eaters, and Merula happily acknowledged that Jacob went insane and nearly destroyed the school in the process. Jacob’s sibling last saw Merula in the Great Hall just as Rita was ready to declare the competition winner. Rita then stated that her readers would love reading about Merula’s troubled upbringing as a result of her imprisoned parents should Merula win the contest. [32]
Trevor’s method of travel to Hogwarts.
During his first year at Hogwarts, Neville Longbottom constantly misplaced Trevor, his pet toad. Neville’s great uncle Algie gave him Trevor as a gift in appreciation for the first time Neville shown magical prowess, earning him admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. [1] The other amphibians in and around Black Lake eventually found Trevor after he strayed off. [2]

In Ravenclaw, are you brave enough?
This also applies to Ravenclaw. Ravenclaws are renowned for their intellect and uniqueness, but some of them—like Professor Flitwick and Luna Lovegood—also show incredible bravery. A wizard or witch who combines the qualities of a Ravenclaw with bravery will rise to the occasion when necessary.
