Choose a line on the circular skirt template that is approximately 10 inches wide for this style because it overlaps “more than the size of your waist. Use this app by By Hand London if you can’t find the measurement that works.
Twice fold the fabric in half. Cut out the waist circle by positioning your template in the top corner. Your finished measurements should be taken starting at your new waistline. In this design, I went with 20.”
Cut a lovely curve from the front of the skirt to the hemline after unfolding it.
Test around your waist by overlapping your two edges. The curves can be changed at this point.
Measure your waist with your wide elastic so that it comfortably fits. Sew the elastic’s raw edges down after sewing a circle around it.
A Godet skirt is what?
A godet skirt has a flared form and triangular fabric inserts add extra movement to the garment. The skirt has a fitted upper section with godet panels placed around the hem at regular intervals to give it extra swing.
