Place the petals in a pattern that they alternately sit entirely above and entirely below their neighbors. Sew them into place using the yarn’s loose ends.
Use the tiny hole in the base of the trumpet to insert the i-cord stamen at the center of the petals. Put a stitch in the trumpet’s base to secure it.
Just enough covered wire should be cut to fit within the i-cord stem. Put it into the knitted tube after covering both ends with gummed tape. Sew the tube’s cut-off end to the center of the backside of the petals.
The flat part of the knitted spathe should point toward the flower as you insert the stem into it. Only about a centimeter of green stem should be visible between the spathe and the petals when you sew it in place.
Bend the stem at the bottom of the spathe at a straight angle once all loose ends have been woven in.
How are flowers knitted together in a row?
– Place yarn at the rear of the work and slide next 5 stitches to the right-hand needle, dropping superfluous wraps. (Slip yarn from the back of the work to the left-hand needle. Put the yarn at the rear of the work and slip it twice to the LH needle.
Knit 1, * (knit the next stitch by looping the yarn around the needle three times) 5 times, knit 1, repeat from * until end of row. Row 1 – Right side.
Row 2: Knit 1, * (knit the next stitch by encircling the yarn around the needle three times) five times, knit 1, then continue from * until the very end.
