The Global Invasive Species Database’s list of the “Top 100 World’s Worst Invaders” was justified by the abundance of escapes into natural and urban environments that were made possible by the tree’s historical dissemination as a street and landscape tree.

There is no concrete information that I can locate that suggests that this tree’s various color variations have varied toxicities, therefore until such time as there is, all should be treated equally and are thought to be harmful to bees.
