You might not see the results until the bloom of the next year if the large hydrangea plants are taking months to change their color. Some flowers will occasionally change color while others won’t. I recently applied the third treatment on my hydrangea, and I’m still watching for the first indication of blue. I believe that will occur. I’ll just have to follow the same guidance that I give to you so frequently. Be tolerant.
If you’re having trouble, think about where you planted your hydrangea. Is it expanding close to concrete? Unfortunately, the lime in the concrete can make it more difficult to turn flowers blue. The quality and pH of their water is another element that is rarely taken into account. Alkaline and loaded with dissolved minerals like calcium and magnesium, hard water is. Acidic soft water has few minerals in it. Therefore, if you’re watering your hydrangea with hard water, the process of turning the flower from pink to blue will take longer and be continuing. When possible, use rainwater as an alternative. You might be well on your way to having vivid blue hydrangeas by the following year.

From early July to the end of the season, this 4-foot-tall shrub is in blossom. Additionally, it blooms on both old and new growth, so you can still obtain blooms on new stems even if cold destroys the flower buds or you prune at the incorrect time (in fall and winter).
In a large container, “L.A. Dreamin'” functioned admirably for me. The blossoms started off brilliant pink, grew over several months to almost redness. In the end, I dried the last of the blooms indoors. My only complaint is that I wanted a little bit more blue and purple.
I used Espoma Organic Soil Acidifier, which is safer than possibly hazardous aluminum sulfate and includes 30% sulfur. According to the package, you should scatter 1 1/4 cups or 2 1/2 cups of fertilizer around each new plant. For every 4 inches of pot diameter, a tablespoon is given to plants in containers. Water it in after evenly distributing the sulfur to the widest branches. Repeat until you achieve the desired hue at intervals of 60 days. Blooms that are violet-blue should appear at a pH of 5.5, whereas deep blue blooms will do so at a pH of 4.5. Flowers bloom in a more subdued blue at a soil pH of 5.0.

The hydrangea won’t be able to absorb iron if it rises beyond 6.4, and it could get chlorotic. When fertilizing in the spring, add an iron supplement if the foliage becomes yellow.
If soil testing for a pink hydrangea reveal a high quantity of aluminum, fertilizer with a high middle number, such 10-25-10, should be used. This middle number stands for phosphorus, which aids in preventing aluminum absorption, which causes hydrangea blossoms to turn blue.
If you decide to force your hydrangeas to turn pink, keep in mind that it will take time. Your hydrangeas will likely turn blue again if you cease monitoring the pH level and the alkaline begins to decline.
How can I dye my hydrangeas a deep blue color?

Give the acid-loving plants a treat by combining apple cider vinegar and water. Or abruptly switch the hue of your hydrangeas from pink to blue. Oh, and what about pearls dissolved in vinegar?
Pearls were dissolved in vinegar and consumed by Cleopatra to display her wealth, likely making the acidic beverage the most expensive beverage ever. Speaking of bittersweet.
