She assisted her father in finding employment after he was released from prison. She was thrilled when he obtained the job and was informed that he would get candy to celebrate. Tulip shot her mother through the door after her mother expressed displeasure and claimed that her father was still useless. Later, when her father came home, he hadn’t remembered to grab the sweets since he had been involved in a fight with a coworker. Child protective services took her in after a shooting resulted in the death of her father. [1]
Tulip used to smoke in the rear of All Saints’ Congregational when she was younger. Tulip watched as her pal was spanked by Jesse’s father who wanted to humiliate him. [2] For placing three youngsters in the hospital, including Donnie Schenck, whose breast Tulip had bit off, Tulip and Jesse received reprimands. [3]
Tulip overheard John Custer on the phone a few days later while she was living with Jesse and his father and going to fetch dish soap. She then questioned Jesse, “Until the end of the world, right?” and he responded in the affirmative. Tulip was removed the following day by the Department of Human Services. [3]
Jobs with Jesse Custer[]
In addition to working together on “jobs,” Tulip and Jesse once started dating. [4]
Later, when Tulip and Jesse were evading the Rodriguez brothers, they stopped at a diner where Tulip insisted on ordering M&M pancakes. She instructed the waitress to deliver her the pancakes and M&Ms, which she would then decorate one at a time.

Tulip collaborated on a bank robbery with Jesse and Carlos. Tulip played around with Jesse during that time, making Carlos envious. Then Carlos released a security guard and left without Tulip and Jesse, betraying them. Tulip was shocked at being betrayed, which led to her miscarrying her child. From that point on, her relationship with Jesse deteriorated, and the two parted ways. [6] [7]
Revenge against Carlos[]
Tulip took a map from a group of men. She ran into a cornfield in her car while battling three men. Tulip bit the man’s ear off when one of the men gained the upper hand. Tulip eventually halted the vehicle and forced a corncob down his throat. Two kids cheered her on, while a 10-year-old girl said she should be in trouble for murdering and damaging property. Tulip asked the two children if they were interested in arts and crafts when she received a text alert that more males were approaching. Tulip constructed a handmade bazooka with the aid of the kids, using metal cans and G.I. Joe toys. Tulip used the bazooka to bring down a helicopter while hiding the kids in the cellar. Tulip introduced herself to the kids after taking care of the males and then hopped in the car. [4]
After that, Tulip went to stay with her uncle. She watched her ex-boyfriend drive away after taking a shower. [4]
Later, Tulip met Jesse and asked for one final job. She was persistent, but Jesse shot her down, making her angry. The sermon by Jesse was heard by Tulip the next Sunday. [4] After that, Tulip went to a baptism and begged Jesse to “rescue her.” Tulip once again sought Jesse for assistance with the task after being baptized. [8]
The steering wheel was taken out of Jesse’s truck by Tulip, who then hung it from a nearby streetlight. Then, when Tulip passed Jesse, she made fun of him for choosing a mundane existence over his history. Tulip played poker that evening at Toadvine and defeated several workers from Quincannon Meat & Power. She informed the woman who called her afterwards that she would shortly be seeing him. Tulip subsequently requested a room from Mosie for the night. Jesse was then kidnapped by Tulip, who led him into her chamber. She disguised herself to frighten him before rapidly revealing herself. Jesse was again bothered by Tulip, but Jesse ignored her. Tulip informed Jesse that she understood him and predicted his return to his previous behavior. After that, Tulip exited, telling Jesse that the chains were never actually fastened to the door. [8]
In Houston, Tulip ran into Dany and exchanged the Grail Industries map for Carlos’ most recent address. Dany informed her that it was none of her business when she asked what Grail Industries was. [6]
She was pulled over for speeding while she was returning to Annville. As a backup plan, Tulip concealed a revolver between her legs as she made up a justification for her excessive haste. The officer was persuaded by her narrative enough to issue a warning before she took off again at a high pace. Jesse looked over as Tulip drove past him and the two stopped. Tulip said that the task she had been nagging about was to murder Carlos. Finally, Tulip persuaded Jesse to follow her. Tulip got into a confrontation with another driver after stopping at a petrol station. Jesse told Tulip that he had changed his mind when he came back from the bathroom. Tulip crushed a pump wiper out of frustration. [6]
Tulip accompanied Mosie to the location of the sinkhole where Lacey died. Tulip became furious after Odin delivered a speech warning people to exercise caution because Odin barely recognized that a girl had passed away. [2]
During a service to remember Lacey, Tulip got into a fight with a few Quincannon Meat & Power workers, including Clive. To ease tensions, Mosie granted everyone a free hour in remembrance of Lacey’s conciliatory nature. Mosie then informed Tulip that her temper had reached a point where even her mother couldn’t control it. Tulip, still angry, raced upstairs when she heard a couple having a sexual encounter. Tulip whipped Cassidy out the window because she thought it was Clive. When Tulip saw Clive approaching the door, she realized she had just seriously injured someone else. While they were being driven to the hospital, Tulip held Cassidy. Cassidy requested a kiss from Tulip after she apologized for her temper issues, and Tulip obliged. Tulip requested a nurse at the hospital for a doctor but Cassidy had left. Following his trail, Tulip discovered him consuming liquids from blood bags. [2]
Cassidy was then driven by Tulip to her uncle’s house. Tulip questioned Cassidy about his vampirism after he awoke. Later, when Cassidy declared his love for her and spoke of their “moment,” Tulip denied it and informed Cassidy that she had only consented to kiss him because she thought he would pass away. When Cassidy decided to leave his work, Tulip informed him that she would be moving in with her lover. Then, Tulip revealed to Cassidy her intention to assassinate Carlos, the person who had betrayed her and Jesse two years earlier. [9]
When she visited Jesse’s church, Tulip observed Emily using the restroom with the door open. In an effort to hide her disbelief, Emily tried to cover herself. Tulip asked Emily directly where Jesse was, oblivious to the unpleasant scenario she had caused. Tulip received a prompt reply from Emily informing him that he was at the Flavour Station. To Emily’s relief, Tulip quickly left the chapel; but, Emily was now severely scared by Tulip. Tulip then discovered that he was offering guidance at Flavour Station and headed there. Tulip revealed Jesse’s past to the congregation of parishioners. Jesse then informed Tulip that she had the ability to alter, and Tulip did.
Tulip assisted Cassidy in stealing cocaine that evening. Cassidy was located by Tulip, who gave him the pills she had stolen. They then engaged in sexual activity in her automobile. [9]
Tulip barged into Emily’s home and smashed Emily’s daughter’s art project while yelling at her to keep away from Jesse. Emily arrived to scold Tulip for damaging her daughter’s art project after she had left to wait in her car, which prompted Tulip to offer to go inside and restore it. Tulip engaged Emily in an awkward discussion while she was mending the artwork. Tulip volunteered to keep Emily’s daughter while Emily ran errands for Jesse during the chat, but Emily declined. Tulip then suggested that she handle the errands herself. Tulip concealed Cassidy behind the door and pretended to be Emily’s assistant while she conducted errands. Jesse praised Tulip and Emily on Sunday for their work in organizing everything. [10]
Her Uncle Walter’s pants were stolen by children, but Tulip tracked them down and gave them back to him after finding him unconscious on his stairs. She asked Cassidy in the kitchen of the church if Jesse knew he was a vampire. Cassidy replied that he had told him nine times, but Tulip didn’t believe him since she thought Jesse would reject him if he knew. Later, Hugo Root came looking for Eugene, which caused Tulip’s supper with Jesse, Cassidy, and Emily to be interrupted. Cassidy followed Jesse outside as he guided Hugo to his car. When Jesse stormed back to the table with a fire extinguisher, Tulip demanded to know what he had done to Cassidy. Soon after, Jesse insulted Tulip, causing her to walk out. [3]
Tulip got a dog from an animal shelter. Tulip later gave her adopted dog a warm cuddle at Walter’s place. Tulip locked the door after leading the dog inside. The dog was eaten by Cassidy, who was present in the space. [11]
Emily was called to Walter’s home by Tulip. Tulip informed Emily that Cassidy was a vampire who required the blood of living creatures while she was there. When Cassidy wakes up, Emily was instructed by Tulip to feed him. Tulip was informed by Emily that Jesse was in trouble, but she told her she didn’t care and that she was welcome to date him despite this. Tulip then departed, telling Emily that she was going to Albuquerque to kill a man. Tulip listened to Jesse’s voicemail in Albuquerque and soon after tied Carlos up before taking up a mallet and approaching him. [5]
Carlos was brought back to Annville by Tulip. Tulip first dropped by to see how Mosie was doing, during which time she discovered that Donnie had a grip on Jesse. Tulip broke into the Schenck home and demanded to know what had happened to Jesse. When she discovered Jesse in Donnie’s home, where he appeared to be reasonably at ease, she was astonished. Tulip was informed at night that Donnie had been kind to Jesse and wasn’t a horrible guy. Jesse afterwards apologized to Tulip as they parted ways outside. Jesse then consented to Tulip’s request to help her in some way. When Tulip took Jesse to her car, she unlocked the trunk and let Carlos out. Although Tulip asked Jesse to murder him, Jesse only unconscious him and closed the trunk. [7]
Tulip later revealed to Jesse that being taken advantage of without Carlos receiving the same treatment was her idea of hell. Jesse advised her to leave him in God’s hands because it wouldn’t matter. Tulip made fun of the idea that Jesse would contact Heaven on the phone of a deceased angel and let a “bearded white dude decide.” Tulip persisted in pleading with Jesse, but he assured her that it wouldn’t matter because their child would never return. Tulip told Jesse that she is aware but still demands payment from Carlos. Tulip went along with Jesse’s decision to kill Carlos. That was the most lovely thing anyone had ever done for her, she told Jesse. Jesse was then prevented from killing Carlos by Tulip, who said that she merely wanted to determine whether Jesse would agree to do it for her. Carlos is freed by the two, but they also give him a tire iron and a rifle. Then the two mercilessly beat Carlos to death. [7]
For the Sunday service, Tulip, Jesse, Donnie, and Betsy cleaned the church. Tulip assured Jesse before the service that they would receive french fries after regardless of what happened. When Tulip joined the congregation, Cassidy was there. [7]
God screamed at the crowd once Jesse finally made contact with Heaven because he felt they shouldn’t be doubting their God. He should be the ones yelling at him, Tulip yelled at him, before blaming God for having a baby cry. Then Tulip was pushed aside. Tulip left with Jesse and Cassie as it was made clear that the God was only a forger. [7]
Outside of Annville, where they intended to find God, the three of them ate at a diner. Tulip enquired about the operation of Genesis as they exited the restaurant. Tulip gave Jesse a tender kiss after being instructed to do so. Tulip, however, punched Jesse after the kiss and warned him not to do it again. The two got into the car and started driving. [7]
How did Tulip and Jesse pass away?
After the Grail event in the penultimate episode of Preacher, Jesse and Tulip resume their high-adrenaline lifestyle while juggling parenthood and co-owning an auto shop with the hotel owner they once befriended. The story then skips 40 years into the future, to the time when both Jesse and Tulip have passed away from old age, following Jesse’s ultimate confrontation with God and his surrender of Genesis. Their daughter is joined by Cassidy, who hasn’t aged a day, as they stand by their parents’ graves.
Cassidy confesses he never again caught up with his old buddies since he was clearly upset by his encounter with Tulip and by his contradictory feelings of friendship and jealousy for Jesse Custer. The daughter of Tulip and Jesse informs the vampire that her mother has always loved him and frequently spoke of him. After being moved by these comments, Cassidy quickly departs and ends her life by stepping into the sun.
The three characters’ TV epilogues diverge significantly from the Preacher comic books’ original endings. In the printed version, Jesse’s first fatality occurs from a soldier under Herr Starr’s command rather than from a plane crash, and this is also the time Cassidy hangs himself by exposing himself to the sun. However, the pact Cassidy struck with God before being burned to death allows for the resurrection of both the preacher and the vampire. Following his resuscitation, Cassidy regains his humanity, strikes out on his own, and vows to become a better man. Jesse and Tulip also experience a touching reunion. Because comic-Cassidy is a far darker character than his Joseph Gilgun counterpart, this is significant.
Although there is an indication that after the last chapter, the former vampire and his two friends part ways, as was verified to be the case with the live-action characters, the inclusion of Jesse and Tulip’s daughter and Cassidy’s irreversible death are wholly unique to the Preacher TV series.
Early Life
Jake O’Hare, an enthusiastic hunter, was Tulip’s father. Tulip was born, when he had hoped for a boy, and her mother passed away during labor. [1] As he saw fit, Jake determined that having a daughter wasn’t all that horrible. He showed her how to shoot and encouraged her to pursue her dreams. He urged her to stand up for what she desired and to show respect for those who had worked hard for it. He advocated for her when she behaved “unladylikely” and tried to persuade the school to allow her to join male sports teams. Tulip developed into a responsible adult. But when she was thirteen, Jake was accidentally shot and killed while hunting. She was given to the state’s custody and sent to boarding school. She became acquainted with Amy Grinderbinder, the neighborhood affluent girl, when she was around sixteen years old. Grinderbinder invited Tulip to spend Christmas at her home, and they later met at a party. Tulip smashed a truck through the wall and threatened to murder them all when several neighborhood high school lads tried to rape Amy. After leaving in their car, Tulip and Amy made the decision to take a year off from school and travel. Tulip met Jesse Custer when they were traveling, and they got along well. She spent some time traveling with him, but she soon came to believe that he had abandoned her when he was eventually taken by Jody and T.C.
Hitwoman
Tulip started to get restless without Jesse. She changed residences frequently and eventually started drinking. She “pissed blood” at one point. Tulip made a short-term hospital admission using some borrowed funds. He hired her as a hitwoman since she declined to perform as a stripper for her debtor. She botched her first job, completely missing her target and hitting a person standing next to him, then fled when attempting to rob Proinsias Cassidy of a pickup truck. Although he offered to drive her, he declined to give it to her. The two continued to drive until Cassidy, “just before daybreak, stopped. Then he entered the trunk, covered himself with a tarpaulin, and forced Tulip to make a promise not to remove it. [3]” Tulip sped toward the explosion after spotting it down the road.
Reunited
Jesse Custer was discovered by Tulip among the ruins of Annville, and she attempted to take him to the hospital, but Cassidy stopped her. Just before they were ambushed by the local police, who were looking into the Annville explosion, Jesse woke up. The Saint of Killers arrived and killed every police officer before they could be taken into custody. Cassidy, Jesse, and Tulip barely made it out alive. God was later discovered to be gone, and Jesse made the decision to locate him. [4]
Born Again
Later, Jody and T.C. abducted Jesse and Tulip and took them to Angelville, where Jesse had grown up. God revived Tulip after she had been dead so that she might tell Jesse to stop looking. [5] Tulip informed him, but Jesse kept looking.
Cassidy
Tulip has been aware of Cassidy’s feelings for her for a while. She had always turned him down, but after Jesse was thought to have died after jumping out of a plane, Cassidy took advantage of her emotional vulnerability and repeatedly provided her drink and drugs, which made her lose her senses sufficiently to consent to their sexual relations. [6] One day Cassidy realized she had forgotten to have her medication renewed, so she shot him and fled. He later came back, but after an altercation with Jesse, he killed himself.
Till the End of the World
Thanks to Amy, Tulip and Jesse got back together. It didn’t last long, though. Tulip was drugged so she couldn’t accompany Jesse when he went to fight Cassidy, Starr, and ultimately God. She tried to save his life when she first got up, but it was too late. After a disagreement, God later brought him back to life, and the two rode off into the distance together. [7]
