Overview

The group of contemporary plants known as angiosperms, or blooming plants, is without a doubt the most varied. Angiosperm species are estimated to number over 290,000 and account for roughly 90% of all living embryophyte species worldwide (see here). Formally, angiosperms are extremely diverse. Herbs, shrubs, trees, vines, and succulents are among them. They can be found in a wide range of habitats, including woods, grasslands, and deserts as well as aquatic and marine settings.
