How do I get more dragon trees?
The leafy head of the dracaena marginata plant is known as a rosette. It’s at the top, near the leaves. The majority of active vegetative growth takes place in the rosette. Multiple stems and rosettes can be found on dragon trees.
Pruning can help you get more rosettes. A damaged stem will frequently sprout two or more rosettes, altering the appearance and density of the plant’s leaves.
This shot depicts a mix of cuttings with and without rosettes (leaves). I’m crossing my fingers that they all make it.

What can you do with dragon tree leaves?
Don’t panic if the leaves on your Dragon Tree start to fall off. Because the Dragon Tree sheds its leaves naturally, you can often discover them at the soil’s base or on the ground. You can prune your Dragon Tree to keep it from collapsing to the ground by simply removing any dead leaves once or twice a week. In the spring and summer, fertilize your plant to ensure that there are enough nutrients to go around the many leaves!
You may have a problem if your Dragon Tree is losing a lot of leaves (think the plant is starting to seem scarce and/or showing other signs of distress). Make sure you’re not overwatering by allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can cause more serious problems, which may necessitate changing the soil.

Golden Seeds, which sprout occasionally near Water, can be united to create Midas Trees. They can be harvested for Golden Apples and tapped for them from level 2 onwards. These seeds are claimed to be live gold, with gold leaves budding on them!

Can you cut and replant a dragon tree?
You must cut the plant in such a way that the section you cut out is its suitable miniature to reproduce your dragon tree. Offsets, plantlets, leaf cuttings, cane and stem cuttings, seed sowing, division, and layering are some of the ways to cut a plant for propagation.
Stem cutting is the technique to use because a dragon tree has woody shrubs and is more beautiful in appearance. Under the correct conditions, each stem part of a dragon tree can form its own roots.
- Pick a stem that isn’t blossoming. To ensure that the cutting does not hurt your plant, it should have several stems and be in good overall condition. It should also be disease-free and insect-free.
- Don’t cut the stem all the way through. The spot where you cut should be a few inches from the base of the stem.
- In addition, the severed stem must be at least 8 inches (20cm) long and have two or three leaves intact.
- The longer the stem, the more likely it is to regrow. New leaves appear in the upper nodes of a dragon tree.
- Remove any leaves that are too close to the stem’s base because they will wither regardless.
- Before rooting the sliced end, dust it with rooting hormone powder. If you aren’t using a rooting hormone, immediately place your cuttings in a container or jar.
- The cuttings must be gently placed into the soil or water as soon as possible after being cut off.
- If the root has a hormone covering, make a small hole in the dirt with a chopstick or pencil so you may place the cutting without accidentally knocking the hormone off.
- Push the cuttings into the soil or water, making sure the cane is pointing up.
- Support the stem with angled chopsticks or tiny rocks if it seems a little fragile or if it’s been cut too long. Maintain a moist environment for the infant plant and provide it with indirect light at all times.
If you can’t plant the cut stem right away or are going to do so later in the day, keep the cuttings damp in a jar wrapped in wet paper towels until you’re ready to plant them.
