It produces a mess all over your lips and surrounding skin when you apply it. I feel the sugar to be very harsh on my lips. Other scrubs are edible, so you don’t have to worry about the oil getting on your lips.
Method:
- In a double boiler or small glass bowl set over a small pot of boiling water, melt shea butter and Agave Nectar, stirring constantly. Allow only a few seconds for the sheabutter to soften, as it may otherwise degrade.
- 1 teaspoon tocopherol (vitamin E), 1 teaspoon Argain oil, and 20 or more drops lemon or orange essential oils Your organic lip balm will be fragrant and nutritious thanks to these essential oils. I recommend starting with a few drops and trying a little quantity on your arm to ensure you like the aroma.
- You can carefully pour it into pots or tubes once it has reached a medium-thick consistency and allow it to cool before usage.
Remember that if you want a thicker, longer-lasting lip balm, add an extra teaspoon or two of shea butter, or use slightly less if you want a smoother, softer lip balm.
Modifications and additions
You can play around with this recipe in a variety of ways to make it your own.
Although shea butter is an essential component of this organic lip balm and cannot be substituted, you can combine it with cocoa butter. However, you should use more shea butter than cocoa butter while making this recipe. You can also use Macadamia oil, Rice oil, or Jojoba oil instead of Argan oil. Vitamin E is known as tocopherol. It moisturizes and heals the lips, making it a useful element for them. If you don’t have it, you can replace it with a vitamin E-rich oil, such as avocado oil, wheat germ oil, or castor oil, which have a similar density.
Finally, I strongly advise you to utilize the essential oils of orange and lemon. The first one, when coupled with Agave Nectar, has a wonderful aroma. Instead, lemon oil is most commonly used for nails because it strengthens and nourishes them; however, you might skip it if you only want to apply it on your lips. These two essential oils are optional; if you leave them out, your organic lip balm will smell like Agave Nectar.

How do I use agave?
Agave nectar is a fantastic sweetener for cold drinks like iced tea or cocktails since it dissolves fast. Use in hot drinks, baking, and other dishes as a sweetener instead of sugar or honey. Toppings for pancakes and French toast can be made using dark agave nectar directly from the bottle.
What are the benefits of agave?
It has a low glycemic index (GI). A low-GI diet may help you control your blood sugar if you have diabetes.
It may be beneficial to your metabolism. Vitamin B6, found in agave, is important for how your body digests meals, especially proteins and carbohydrates.
When you’re pregnant, it can aid you and your kid. Vitamin B6 may also help you avoid becoming unwell in the morning. Folate, which is found in agave, aids in the development of your baby’s neurological system.
It can aid in the treatment of depression. Agave syrup contains vitamin K and folate, which may help with mental wellness. Vitamin K levels have been linked to a lower incidence of depression in studies. Folate may also help with depression symptoms, though evidence on this is limited.
It might be beneficial to your heart. Vitamin B6 aids in the reduction of homocysteine levels. You will be protected from heart disease and stroke as a result of this.
What is the best lip scrub for dry lips?
While I try to do all of the above, especially when it comes to staying hydrated, I sometimes need a little extra help when my lips are dry and cracked. That’s when my lip scrubs come in handy. These scrubs are a gentler and safer solution for smoothing your lips than trying to pick off the dead, scaly skin with your fingertips (I know, yuck).
It also helps since many scrubs contain moisturizing chemicals, which means they won’t leave your lips completely peeled and dry. I usually add my favorite lip balm after using the scrub to hydrate and seal in the smoothness. When my lips are extremely dry (as they are throughout the winter), I use a lip scrub once or twice a week, depending on how my skin is feeling.

How do you use a lip scrub?
To use lip scrub, simply apply a small amount to your lips with one finger. Rub your lips together gently to exfoliate. Check your lips after around 30 seconds. Wash off any remaining scrub with water if your lips look and feel better than before.
