How to Remedy Root Rot in African Violet Plants?

  • Visually examine the root system first. There aren’t enough healthy roots to support the plant’s growth if the majority of the roots are dead, aged, mushy, or dark brown.

  • To create a humid environment, put this newly potted plant in a Ziploc bag and lock it.
  • Take a week or two off. After then, leave the bag unopened and for a few more days. After that, totally unzip the bag and let it sit for a few more days. This will gradually acclimate the growing plant to its surroundings.
  • Avoid abruptly pulling the newly potted plant from the bag and placing it in the outside environment.
  • Implementing this measure gradually will prevent the plant, which was already in stress, from worsening and delaying the recovery process.
