In Cream Ridge, New Jersey, halfway between New York City and Philadelphia, Holland Ridge Farms’ U-Pick Tulips Season is one of the newest tulip festivals on this list. The Jansen family prepared their farm in 2017 for a festival honouring the bloom by planting one million tulip bulbs. Many people came out to take in the colours and to choose some flowers to take home for a nominal fee. Since then, family frequently visit the event to take pictures and enjoy some traditional farm activities. Recent planting expansions have also allowed visitors to clip as many blossoms as they want for just one dollar per stem.

Where in the US is the largest tulip festival held?
- Since 1986, the Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine, Kansas, has hosted its annual Tulip Time Festival, which features arts and crafts, live music, a carnival, and other entertaining activities. The largest concentration of tulips ever planted in the United States was in Belle Plaine.

- The Tulip Time event, held in Pella, Iowa, also in early May, was started in 1935 to honour the town’s history. The three-day festival includes street cleaning parades, wooden shoe dancers dressed in costumes, wooden shoe carving demonstrations, poffertje vendors, and an old Dutch street organ.
- The largest tulip festival in the United States, the Tulip Time Festival in Holland, Michigan, takes place in early May and boasts more than 4.5 million tulips. More than 600,000 people attend each year.
Where can I see tulips at their best?
The Bollenstreek, or bulb district, is the greatest location to visit in the Netherlands if you want to enjoy the tulips.
Between Leiden, The Hague, and Haarlem is a region known as The Bollenstreek. The cities of Lisse, Hillegom, Katwijk, Noordwijk, Noordwijkerhout, and Teylingen are located in this region, and the flower industry is thriving there.
The Dutch town of Lisse is where you can also locate the Keukenhof. Although it is commercial, I nevertheless urge you to visit at least once in your lifetime. The park is truly a tulip heaven with over 7 million tulips!
Go to the countryside between Hillegom and Warmond to find more tranquil spots. Amazing flower fields can be found there. Rainbow-patterned flower fields are waiting, ranging in colour from blue to white or stunningly purple to orange.
In other words, if you don’t mind paying, go to the Keukenhof; if you can’t afford it, go to the fields nearby. You can be sure that you’ll see lots of those lovely tulips with either of these alternatives!
Where is the most well-known tulip garden?

Does California have tulip fields?
The planting zones in California actually span from 5a to 10b, however we’ll divide the state into Northern California and Southern California. Northern California has its first fall frost around the end of November. Southern California can occasionally experience frosty conditions. If you are unable to identify a frost period, pay attention to your local weather and record when it begins to get cooler. Take advantage of your soil thermometer in this situation!
In all of California, chill your tulip bulbs before planting. The cooler soil temperatures in this region can be adapted to by chilling bulbs in the refrigerator. Before planting, bulbs should be chilled in the refrigerator for four to six weeks.
In Northern California, you should ideally plant tulip bulbs between the months of September and December.
Plant bulbs in Southern California between the middle of December and the first few weeks of January.
