I’m not sure what this portion of the peace lily’s precise term is it could be called a stamen (?).
It comes out of the stem at the place where the flower section comes out of the stem, and is NOT the white leaf component of the bloom.
A spadix is a spike with minute flowers encased by the spathe that protrudes from the “bloom” of the peace lily (Spathiphyllum) (the whiteleaf).
The age of the bloom determines the answer to the black coloring.
The black color of a bloom that is a few weeks old indicates that the bloom is spent and in decline, especially if the leaves are green and healthy.
This is a regular part of the blooming process.
Simply follow the stem to the plant’s base and snip it off to remove the wasted flower.
If these are recently developed blossoms, however, the plant is stressed.
You’re probably over-watering the leaves if they’re exhibiting the same symptoms.
Make sure the extra water in your pot drains away from the roots.
The plant should recover after the water problem is resolved.
As long as your peace lily appears to be in good health, I’d continue to care for it as you have.
Fix the Watering
Keep a watch on your Peace Lily’s soil and make sure your time is correct. If you’re preparing to water it, make sure you examine the soil first.
Don’t overwater or underwater the Peace Lily soil. It should be moist all around. It is acceptable to prune the leaves if they have become black.
The second precaution is to use a pot that is well-drained. To avoid water collection, I recommend selecting a pot with sufficient holes.
Make sure the medium you’re using is also a well-draining one so you can get rid of any excess moisture.
Avoid Fungal Infections
Baking soda is one of the safest ways to treat fungal infections on leaves. Baking soda has antifungal qualities and is safe for leaves.
Pour one liter of water with a spoon of baking soda into a spray bottle. Spray on the leaves where there is apparent fungal development. Rep till there is no more fungal growth.
To inhibit fungal growth, another alternative is to use a fungicide. Apply the fungicide to the leaves according to the package directions.
If no progress is made, I would suggest slicing off the affected areas. The fungus would be unable to spread as a result of this.
Avoid Over-Fertilization
To remove the salts, I propose washing the soil and pot. Of course, this should only be done if the pot is well-drained.
All of the piled-up minerals in the soil will be drained away as a result of this. To counteract the acidic nature of the soil, you should use alkaline water.
Treat Root Rot
If the Peace Lily roots are not all mushy and destroyed, the indoor plant can still be saved.
Wash the roots with distilled water and use sterilized scissors to prune the contaminated sections of the roots. Wrap plastic wrap around the roots.
Keep the roots out of the soil until they are completely dry. Change the soil composition for the Peace Lily.
For the time being, don’t water the Peace Lily. The soil will be able to dry out and recuperate as a result of this. Water the Peace Lily carefully once it is healthy.
