It comes out of the stem at the place where the flower section comes out of the stem, and is NOT the white leaf component of the bloom.

The age of the bloom determines the answer to the black coloring.
The black color of a bloom that is a few weeks old indicates that the bloom is spent and in decline, especially if the leaves are green and healthy.
This is a regular part of the blooming process.
Simply follow the stem to the plant’s base and snip it off to remove the wasted flower.
If these are recently developed blossoms, however, the plant is stressed.

Why are the flowers on my peace lily turning brown?
