The Philodendron Hope Selloum (Philodendron bipinnatifidum), also known as the Tree Philodendron or Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum, is a hardy native of South America’s tropical regions. Their deeply lobed leaves can grow up to almost 5 feet in the right conditions, but they can still give any room a tropical vibe indoors.
The Hope Selloum thrives in a warm, humid area with plenty of water and light. Put your Selloum in a location that gets medium to bright indirect light. This plant does not thrive in low-light environments. It can withstand very bright light, however it may require special attention.

Salts build up in the soil when a plant does not produce new leaves and does not absorb fertilizer. These salts can cause roots to burn, leaves to discolor, and new growth to be tiny. or if the plant is exposed to very intense light Only a few houseplants should be in direct sunlight.
When should I repot my selloum philodendron?
You should repot your tree philodendron in early spring, just when the plant is emerging from its winter dormancy, like with all repottings. Daytime temperatures should ideally exceed 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 C).
Put potting soil in the bottom third of the new container. With your palm flat against the earth and the stem securely between two fingers, gently move the plant out of its current container. Shake off as much soil from the roots as possible over the pot, then place the plant inside the container, spreading out the roots. Fill the container with potting soil until it reaches the plant’s previous level.
Water your plant until the drainage holes are completely dry. Replace the plant in its original location and wait until the top layer of soil is dry before watering it again. In 4-6 weeks, you should detect fresh growth.
If transplanting a lacy tree philodendron is impossible due to its size, remove the top 2-3 inches of soil every two years and replace it with fresh potting soil.
Should I mist my philodendron?
